Set amidst a row of small terrace houses, this East Balmain terrace required substantial renovation. The brief called for as much space and light as possible within the parameters of local council and site restrictions.
Use was made of an existing side passage right of way. Uplighting and paving made the otherwise dark passage warm and inviting.
The rear of the house was demolished to create new living, kitchen and dining facilities. This open space leads to rear sunny courtyard. Internal re configuration of the stairwell allowed for a master bedroom with ensuite and robe toward the rear of the house at first floor level.
The house now accomodates three bedrooms, home office, two bathrooms and separate W/C. All living areas are bathed in light wich gives a feeling of a larger house.
